One of the most ecxiting systems implemented is the Equal Gear System for Battle Arena and Survival Arena.
新たに導入された最もエキサイティングなシステムの1つは、占領戦(BA)とサバイバルアリーナ(SA)向けの装備均衡アリーナです。
The goal is to create an environment where every player has a fair chance to compete and participate in PVP events. It ensures that all participants are on an even playing field in terms of items, rarity levels, and enhancements. In these events, victory will be decided by team work and the player's actual skill. This approach distinguishes between those who genuinely excel at the game and those who rely on external advantages.

The Equal Gear System comes into effect under specific conditions:

Ideas for achievements and titles

I like the idea of the achievement system in Silkroad online and that it can reward players with titles that can have effect. However, in official Silkroad it's poorly done. Most requirements to gain titles are too high and too time-consuming. Also, if an title effect exceeds a value of 5% it starts to become unbalanced and unfair for competition. I remember PVP tournament titles that gave Damage (absorption) increase up to 25% (!!)

I decided to come up with some ideas for funny and motivating achievements and titles:

I also had an idea to make dungeons and PVE useful when there is equal equipment arena. My idea is to make time-limited titles (with some useful effect) to give incentive to participate in dungeon runs. It can be repeatable so you "need" to go again to regain a title.

Also, what about having a berserk potion in equal equipment arena that will increase your berserk duration a little bit but you only can use it when you obtained a (time-limited) dungeon title. Could be used for "Queen" and "King" zerk titles quests -- maybe even time limited too.

The problem with fair competition in Silkroad

Pay2Win
Silkroad as an online MMORPG has several massive problems. One of the biggest issues in official Silkroad most likely is the Pay2Win issue. The longer the game existed, the more Pay2Win was added by the management. However, this problem is occurring in private servers too.

Money wins you games: buying power
It often turns out that money wins the game. There are a few “whales” that donate tons of money. They buy power by having the best equipment and weapons and additional benefits from scrolls. One of the worst examples is the so-called VIP system: Depending on a player’s amount of donations, they get overpowered additional buffs. The more a player is donating, the stronger will his power gain be.

Those who can’t or don’t want to donate that much will be dominated by a few players and ultimately will quit the game at some point. A good portion of the player base only seem to have "fun" when they can "dominate". Usually, equipment or item mall advantage is needed in order to be "good". They enjoy dominating and humiliating other players...

The wrong approach to long-term
In some cases the argument is brought up, that players can get the “best” items simply by playing the game. You either can donate to get the item immediately or at least in a much faster way or you can invest time in game to get it. Basically, a trade-off “Money spend” vs “time invested”. However, the requirements and time invested to get on a competitive level in almost all servers is way too time-consuming.

This is a critical point that can make a lot of players quit. If the game makes players feel like it requires them to treat it as a second job to keep up. At some point they realize that they are only playing to “not fall behind” with no chance to ever be competitive. I call that catch-up-problems. I never understand why people want end gear or items to be "hard to gain"? (low stone drop rates, low item drop rates, low success chances for magic pop or loot boxes, etc...). It looks like "long term" is understood as delayed (as much as possible) gain of levels and equipment. Delaying the time when people get basic equipment (with full blued stats) and start playing (PT)PVP. It doesn't have anything to do with keeping the game fun and fair past that point. This snowball effect will make strong players just stronger.

Reward-for-kill-design
This is supported by the idiotic reward-for-kill-design, that almost all private servers are using nowadays. Reward-for-kill-concept is completely wrong and unhealthy. The idea behind it is to reward players for their personal kills, team performance and roles of support classes are neglected. Unfortunately, almost all servers are reward-for-kill (just search in any random thread for the key word "kill" -- it's shocking. It's causing heavy catching up problem (caused due to reward-for-kill and end gear that in majority of servers is too hard to get). This problem applies to many in game systems:

• Capture the Flag (sometimes even present in Battle Arena...)
• Battle Royale or Zoo Survival Arena
• open-world uniques
• job-based servers
• gaining of end-game gear based on killing/pvp encounters

It narrows build variety to a small number of classes only and makes strong players just stronger. Newcomers, casuals and players that joined server at a later date after opening have almost no chance to compete.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying "don't do kills". Killing is still a part to win matches but it's not killing only. Supporting will become as much important and the overall team play. There are already nice systems that reward the whole PT - these just need to be improved. In specific I'm talking about Battle Arena, Survival Arena and all the different dungeons.

Server make you think they game would be fair but it is NOT
Many private servers try to keep the non-paying players around by making them think that their game is fair even though it isn’t. Servers try to lure players with "free silk", event prices, even real cash as rewards. It's a common and most likely intended problem in donation-based servers even though the main post tries to lure you with statements such as "with only a few hours of daily gameplay you could get all the resources you need". In most cases however due to the snowball effect these silk & event prizes are most likely claimed by the strong and donating players solely.

All in all, the power gap between players will keep rising. The power of a few players will keep increasing. The power will be the decisive factor in battles, not the actual skill of a player.

What about getting more skillful in playing your character?

I like to compare it to chess game: imagine two chess players whereat one of them is not allowed to use the queen, the bishops and the castle. Would you consider that fair and skillful?

How to achieve fair competition?
This brings me to the point of “fair competition”. I enjoy fair and balanced competition that helps me improve my playstyle with certain classes. For me it is fun to play PVP – especially PTPVP – in an environment where all players start the match on an equal playing field with the same starting resources.

Fair competitions means that victory is not decided by an power imbalance but instead the correct use of your personal and team skills with a balance of power between all combatants. This will lead to a fair chance for victory on any side of a player-vs-player conflict. You start with what your opponent has as well and victory is decided based on who uses the given resources the best.

Competition will turn out to be more skill-based rather than power-based. There will be more uncertainty about the victor and either side could win at any moment by playing better or being smarter. On the other side, in power-based pvp the outcome of a battle is clear before hand with almost no way to alter it as the result is decided already even before the battle started. It’s like playing monopoly and someone already has all the houses and all the money.

Fair competition can keep the rivalry and all the participants engaged to keep pvp game alive. It leads to a state of equal outcome: all sides start with the knowledge that they might win and every new match begins with a neutral playing field again. All players begin the next match knowing that everyone is under fair conditions again. Competition will be at its best when all participants are equally skillful, have an equal understanding and equal desire to win. Things like team composition, team dynamics, team tactics, team members skills become more important. The overall quality of pvp conflicts will reach a higher level than in power-based conflicts.

I'm looking forward to a server that offers equal equipment arena with ELO-based ranking to have great competition!

Wanna-be kings can't be helped
Heavy donating players might ask: “Why bother gaining an advantage if I can’t use it against everyone?”

If you are a pvp player and happy to gain power and then fight those weaker than you and battle with the fight unbalanced in your favor, you don’t actually enjoy pvp. You enjoy victory and you like it when the victory is almost guaranteed. If you’re looking at your gained power and thinking I earned this so I should be able to use it unchecked and unbalanced, you’re saying you don’t want fair skillful tactical fights – you want to humiliate the rest of the player base.

Unbalanced competition usually only is fun for those who “win”; no turning point in the battles and no chance of victory and no point in keep trying for the “weaker” side of the fight. It leads to a few powerful individuals or guilds dominating and new players being torn apart. In the end it will lead to both sides quitting the game. New and casual players will quit because they can’t catch up to get competitive as well. Veteran players will quit at some point because they are “bored” because there are no competitors left for them. Then they wonder why their game is unpopular and losing players.

I have no problem with losing a game but only when the opponent beats me through better skill or decision-making not simply by buying advantages and power. In fact losing will help me to analyse mistakes in my playstyle and gives chance to improve.

[Hanami Closed Beta] Equal equipment BA

I recently played on a private server named Hanami. It's still under development and I'm part of the testing players. Based on some of my suggestions they worked on implementing Battle Arena prototype that allows players to have "equal equipment" during the duration of arena. It works surprisingly well.

Secret Talisman Collection Books

I think you all know the four collection books that give sealed weapons for collecting specific talismans each degree:

Togui Village - The Phantom of the Crimson Blood:

Flame Mountain - The Burning Abyss:

Shipwreck - The Green Abyss:

Shipwreck - The Sea of Resentment:

In the Silkroad media pk2 I found a lot more collections that are mostly unknown. These secret talisman collections never were released ingame. There are even pictures of the talismans. I copied them into the collection book without guarantee of the correct order.

Israfil collection:

Izrail collection:

Michael collection:

Poison collection:

Jibril collection:

Ice collection:

Human collection:

Fire collection:

Dark collection:

Adoun collection:

I have no idea for which purpose these collections were meant. Most likely for other dungeons.

Unused Yellow Titles

While browsing through media pk2 I noticed that Joymax planned to implement more than the existing berserker titles:

For EU race:
Lv 95 Pawn | Knight
Lv 100 Rook | Baronet
Lv 105 Bishop | Baron
Lv 110 Knight | Count
Lv 115 (?) Queen | Marquis
Lv 120 (?) King | Duke

For Chinese race:
Lv 95 炮 | Captain
Lv 100 俥 | General
Lv 105 相 | Senior General
Lv 110 馬 | Chief General
Lv 115 (?) 仕 | Vice General Lord
Lv 120 (?) 帥 | General Lord

There also exist 6 different Energy of Life Berserk Potions:

Lv 1: It will increase berserk gauge 5 sec.
Lv 2: It will increase berserk gauge 8 sec.
Lv 3: It will increase berserk gauge 11 sec.
Lv 4: It will increase berserk gauge 14 sec.
Lv 5: It will increase berserk gauge 17 sec.
Lv 6: It will increase berserk gauge 20 sec.

jSRO - current state and why I'm not playing there anymore...

I did not login in jsro for quite a while now. When I joined there for the first time in 2015 I was very excited and had a lot of fun learning and discovering new things. I knew the game had major flaws like every other Silkroad version with heavy pay2win and a long way to reach level cap. However, it was the Silkroad version with no bots and very skilled players. I'm grateful for the experiences there - probably one of the best Silkroad times I had.

Depopulation most likely took place after implementation of 12th degree update - and it kept increasing with each update to come. I prefer to not call it "updates", more like "downgrades". Pay2Win took over more and more.

After the release of 15Q items, wheels for alchemy blues and Cap 140 the depopulation drastically increased. Even long-term players gave up. The EXP requirements are ridiculously high and Lv 136 is considered to be the "final" level by players. Unfortunately more things turned out badly: the new hunting areas were poorly made and some level requirements to enter them are questionable. PT hunting moved from "normal PT hunting" to "pandora box only PT hunting". In my opinion it reduced PT hunting quality. Some characters also took only very little damage because of "damage 1 formular". So something is going in the wrong direction there...

By increasing level cap to 140 they also increased level requirement for joining PTSA to Lv136.
PTBA and PTSA were some of the favorite activities of the playerbase. Some players regularly uploaded videos about it. All that was gone now. Some managed to get to Level 136 but there simply were not enough other players to find opponents.

During the last year some turks managed to join jsro and started to use bot. In the beginning we could successfully fight against the bots by reporting them to the management. Nowadays I have the feeling that management more and more got inactive and doesn't really care about that.

On top of that I'm not understanding the motivation of the bot users from oversea to play there. In all cases I know they use English media pk2. That means they can't communicate properly ingame thus not being part of the server's community. And, do they really think to stand a chance in participating in PVP activities? I would like to see that!w The bot user do not seem to adapt to the culture and have a very rude attitude, by spamming players and white chat.

Management's inactivity can be seen at the event density too. I compared the event density from 2-3 years ago and there were lot of more events taking place than in 2020 or 2021 for example. I really liked some events when I joined for the first time (monthly login event for example, which was replaced with some stupid roulette event and later completely removed). The few events are getting recycled and don't really help to balance the huge gap.
Some events include collecting event items (Snowflake event). Such events are desperately abused by using multiple characters to farm event boxes in order to get an event item that is needed to be traded for a 15Q item. This was absolutely demotivating.

In the end all I can ask: What could help? What would revive jsro?
I mainly see 2 solutions:
1. Opening an oldschool server with less pay2win. Preferably anything from 80 to 110 Cap. I think a new opened oldschool server would bring back many players.
2. Implementation of equal equipment arena mode.

EXP bonus in PT hunting

Silkroad PT hunting system is an interesting topic. There are different factors that influence the EXP gain:
• number of PT members → each PT members gives an additional EXP bonus
• race of PT members (EU, CHN) → each additional EU PT member gives 20% EXP bonus, each additional CHN PT member gives 10% EXP bonus (this probably does not apply for R-files)
• Lv difference of the monsters hunted: the Lv difference is calculated as [monster lv] - [average PT level]
The most notable EXP bonus are gained when hunting mobs that are 5, 7 or up to 9 levels higher than the average level of the PT. When hunting monsters below the average PT level, there is a decrease in EXP gain.

The ingame guide of Silkroad Online mentions some of the EXP bonus gained in an auto-share hunting PT:

[Guide] If an Equal Distribution party brings in an extra party member, the party gains 20% additional EXP.
[Guide] If an Equal Distribution party defeats a monster whose level is greater by 5 levels or more, the party gains 30% additional EXP.
[Guide] If an Equal Distribution party defeats a monster whose level is greater by 7 levels or more, the party gains 60% additional EXP.
[Guide] If an Equal Distribution party defeats a monster whose level is greater by 9 levels or more, the party gains 90% additional EXP.
[Guide] Hunting a party-type monster whose level is lower than your own, will cause you to incur a high penalty on the EXP and the item drop rate.

Team Battle Grandprix 2015:

Event Information

Unlike the previous tournaments, TBG 2015 was played with a different system. It was played in some kind of league system to make it more balanced and equal. There was no knockout phase like in the previous tournaments.

The teams will fight each other in order to get points for either win (3 points), draw (1 point) or no points at a loss. After all matches are played there will be a final ranking with the winner that has the most points acquired. When multiple teams have the same score at the end, it is decided by the number of kills.

Main tournament table:

Each team playing against every other team once. With 6 participating teams it will lead to 15 matches in total.

[Event overview] Battle & Survival Arena Event

This event is focused on the Battle Arena or Survival Arena system. It would give rewards depending on the number of participations or the win percentage or the number of wins or the number of arena coins acquired.

Example 1:

Depending on the number of wins you would receive additional Arena Coins as reward.
The player with the highest winning percentage (84% in this case) would be gifted a 11th degree nova legend accessory set. Participation of a minimum 20 matches was required to be eligible for the highest winning rate gift.
In that event there also was a secret price that would be given for an unkown condition. In this case the player with the most defeats (23 losses in that case) was gifted a 12th degree weapon of his choice.

Example 2:

Titles for highest winning percentage:
• effect: Str 5 Increase
• effect: HP 3000 Increase
• effect: Str 10 Increase
• effect: Block Ignore 5% Increase
• effect: HP 5000 Increase
• effect: HP/MP Recovery 1000% Increase
• effect: Damage absorption 3% Increase
• effect: Monster Defense Ignore 3% Increase
• effect: Damage 5% Increase

Titles for most number of wins or most participations:
• effect: HP 3000 Increase
• effect: Damage 5% Increase

[Event overview] Alchemy reinforcement event

Alchemy reinforcement events regularly took place and during the event period (usually 1-2 weeks) players aimed to achieve + values on their items to get rewards.

Event content:
For reaching a specific + value on an item, it would get an additional +1 for free after the event period. For example achieving +6 or more would give you the right to have one more plus value on that item after the event. If the conditions are met for multiple target items, you would receive the gifts for each of the items.

Items that reached the max + value during the event already, couldn't get an additional +1 increase. For example when max + value is +12 and you make the item +12 during the event, then it will not be +13 as it is max plus already. But if it would be +11, then it would automatically get +12 after the event period. The items had to be in your inventory or storage possession to meet the event requirements.

The aim of the event is to be the "Alchemy King". The player with the most alchemy during the event would receive a special title that has the effect of increasing Luck chance by 1 or 2%. There also would be a title for the player with the most consecutive alchemy failures during the event that has the effect to Increase the HP/MP regeneration by about 300%.

I will give an example of the event details:

For reaching +5 → 10x Scroll HP/MP recovery 100%
For reaching +7 → right to increase + value by +1

For reaching +15 → right to make 1 magic attribute to 100%

For reaching highest + value on 14th degree → 3 players will get the right to make 1 item stat to 100%

For failing the most consecutive amount, the player would receive a title with special effect and 1 item 14th degree +12 of his choice.

Alchemy King: The player with the most alchemy attempts will receive a special title that increases Luck chance.

[Event overview] Reverse auction

This was a special event that often took place during so-called "Golden Week (GW)". This event is different from a normal auction because the one with the lowest bid can win.

Event content:
The event GM would appear at the back of Constantinople Trading company (X-10920; Y2400) where the event took place. Unlike a normal auction in this event the one bidder with lowest single-named bid would win. The bidding would take place by whispering the event GM your bid.

You did not have to bid any ingame gold as just the number you whispered is decisive. That way anyone could participate. GM would announce an item to bid for, then announce the start of the auction. I think you had 1 minute time to make your bid.

Bid method:
1. The event GM will publish the item to bid for.
2. GM will give a signal "start bidding" so players can whisper him.
3. One bid per person and lowest bid can be "1 gold".
4. Time limit to give a bid is 1 minute after the announcement.

In the example, the bids "3 gold" and "4 gold" have the smallest number of bidders. In this case "3 gold" will win as it lower than "4 gold".

Event rules:
• winning bid would be announced during the next maintenance
• a player can only make one bid per item. Multiple bids on a single item are invalid.
• using multiple characters was not allowed
• no gold is required to participate
• no limit for player's level or number of participants

[Event overview] Unique hunting event

Unique spawning events regularly took place. They were announced in advance and set to a specific date and time.
Event GM would appear and summon uniques at different locations for players of different level ranges.

Duration: usually about 1-1,5 hours.

High level players didn't kill any low level uniques as they are meant to help the lower level players. I remember that killing low level uniques by a high level char could result in punishments such as login restrictions. Maybe it was only allowed when a high level player filled the pt with low level players to help them out.

The spawning of uniques would be splitted into different areas in front of different city gates.

[Event overview] monthly login event

This used to be a monthly login event that gave rewards depending on the number of days you logged into the game.
During the event you could earn stamps on the website calendar by playing the game for at least 1 hour per day. Every 5 days you could get items that were stored in the Silkroad web storage from where they could be transfered into your ingame inventory.

To complete the calendar with stamps you would need to play on 25 days a month. I liked that system as it didn't require you to play every single day of a month to complete it.

I remember, when there were downtimes (not matter what time of the day) the management usually compensated the lost days. Often they would give you even stamps for a few days more.

Here is an example:

Reward pool examples:
• 5 days: 3x 150% Exp scrolls, 10x Speed scroll, 10x Repair hammers, 3x pink flower, 10x Res scrolls
• 10 days: 1000 pieces pots, 20x Atk Rate 30% incr scrolls, 3x orange flower, 3x 150% exp scrolls, 3-day-pet, 10x zerk pots
• 15 days: 5x Reverse Return scrolls, 5x HP/MP scrolls, 5x SP scrolls, 20x parry rate scrolls, 5x Res scroll, 1000 HP/MP pots, 3x yellow flower
• 20 days: 5x 20% dmg scrolls, 5x Res scrolls, 3x MS, 7-day-pet-clock, 3x blue flower
• 25 days: 1x 7-day-premium, 1x 7-day-SP-ticket, 5x Zerk pots, 3x Pandora Box, 5x Gold Coin, 2x EXP/SP booster, 5x MS, 3x green flower

[Beginner Guide] Battle Arena

What is Battle Arena (BA)?
Battle Arena is a team battle system in Silkroad (Lv20↑). As a reward it will give players Arena Coins for both the winner and loser.

There are two types of Battle Arena:
• Point Battle
• Capture the Flag

There are different modes:
• Random Battle Arena
• PT Battle Arena
• Guild Battle Arena
• Job Battle Arena

Duration of the match: 20 minutes

How to participate?
Participation is possible at Arena Manager in each town. The registration is possible 60 minutes before it the arena match starts. Registration deadline is 5 minutes before the start.

Players cannot register or enter if they are:
• Not in town
• In Job Status
• Wearing PVP suits
• On delivery quest
• Trading or Exchanging
• On a Transport
• In Guild War

Depending on the BA mode the registration looks like this:
• Random Battle Arena → apply individually via arena manager
• PT Battle Arena → PT leader will apply for the whole PT (registration requires at least 5 members in the PT; playing the match can be done by 2 players only though) via arena manager
• Guild Battle Arena → Guild master can apply up to 16 guild members via arena manager
• Job Battle Arena (Hunter vs. Thief) → apply individually via arena manager while wearing job suit

Random matching arena:
Battle Arena where people apply individually and are divided automatically into teams to play against each other. Teams are divided depending on the level of the highest-level character of all characters that apply for the battle.
Battle result heavily depends on the composition of the members. In most cases it is not very balanced.

PT Battle Arena:
Battle Arena where PTs are formed in advance to have a match against another PT. Registration itself requires atleast 5 PT members to successfully work. However after registration is done, PT members still can leave or join until the battle is starting. That's why it is possible to also join as a PT of 2 members. Members and roles are very decisive to the outcome of the battle.

Guild Battle Arena:
16 Guild members selected by the Guild Master to join the arena and to fight vs another guild. Sadly, can't join all guild members to the battle. The match itself can be very imbalanced as the number of online members and levels of guild members can vary much.

Job Battle Arena:
Registration while wearing job suit to have a match hunter vs thief. Each job fraction is teleported to it's own starting area and then can form PTs to fight the opponents.

Point Battle:
Players score points by killing spawning monsters or other player characters. The monster levels depend on the level of the highest-level character in the area.
The team with the highest score when the time runs out wins.

Points:
• normal monster = 1 point
• champion monster = 3 points
• giant monster = 8 points
• elite monster = 60 points
• player character = 6 points

To note, there are 2 elite monsters during the match, one is spawned right at the beginning of the battle. The 2nd one is spawned about 2 minutes before the match will end. The points for monsters are counted for the team that is doing the last hit to the monster.

In order to win it is the best to focus only on earning a lot of points. Only target players that you are able to kill. The elite monsters give the most points, so try to get these killed first (maybe even use berserk mode for that).

Capture the Flag Battle:
Players fight each other to get 1 point for each kill. There will be flag(s) in this arena type. Placing the flag in the flag pole of your team will get you 1,000 points per flag. Placing the flag into the pole takes about 5-7 seconds. Thus placing the flag within 10 seconds remaining, your team will most likely win.

The number of flags depend on the size of the arena map. If a player picks the flag, he will hold it for 1 minute until it drops to the ground again. It can be picked by any player then. When a flag is picked or dropped, a little message will appear in the menu down below. It can be important to remember the time (by checking arena timer) to have a chance to pick it when it drops the next time.

• Characters score 1,000 points when the flag is placed in the friendly territory.
• Characters lose 1,000 points when the flag is captured by the enemy team.
• Characters score 1 point by killing an enemy character.
• The character that captured the flag has to mount it on the flagpole within 60 seconds. When the 60 seconds are up, the flag is dropped on the ground.
• Characters in “Untouchable” status cannot capture or mount the flag.
• The team with the higher score when the time runs out wins. If the scores are the same, the battle is a draw.

When the match starts and players are teleported into the arena, they should take their time to decide the roles and buff distribution before going out. It's important to act as a team and not to attack alone. If there are players that run out alone to suicide, try to talk to him and calm him down. Tips and advices for playing the different role you can fight in my other guides about each class.

Using berserk often is done about 1 minute before the end of the match as it is decisive which team is placing the flag for gain 1,000 points to win. Devil Spirit should be used either 10 minutes before the end of the match (if you can survive that long) or when you are about to use berserk mode.

Rogue's ability to use scorn can be very helpful when it comes to picking or placing the flag as it prevents opponents from doing so.

[Beginner Guide] Cleric

The cleric is a magical class in Silkroad Online that can using a cleric rod as weapon and a shield for better defense. It is a buffer class that will support the allies mainly by restoring Health points (HP) by using numerous healing skills. It has great defensive buffs for the PT members to increase their defense and survivability.
Stat point distribution can be anything from full INT (will helpful when you want to use cleric's strongest attack) to full STR (better for survivability). Clerics can either wear Robe (gives a bonus for the healing amount) or Light Armor (gives a bonus for buffs like Str, Int, Def increases) as equipment.

Advantages:
• very strong and popular mastery (buff-wise)
• has the strongest and riskful attack of all classes "Offering"
• increases solo hunting ability a lot
• access to Robe & Light Armor

Disadvantages:
• MP consumption can be very high, especially as STR-based character (thus can be useful to not MAX the cleric heals to be able to use more heals and reduce the MP consumption)

Important Skills:

Healing Cycle (1 target) / Healing Orbit (PT) → Healing skill that restores HP every 3 seconds

Healing Division/ Healing Favor → main healing skill for PT hunting to gain aggro and recover the ally's HP; instant heal and low cooling time

Group Healing/ Group Healing Breath → main healing skill for PT hunting to gain aggro and recover the ally's HP; needs longer to cast than the heal above but also for up to 8 members

Group Recovery/ Holy Group Recovery → Restores the HP of all allies instantly. MP consumption is large. Draws a lot of aggro.

Recovery/ Holy Recovery → Greatly recovers the HP of the target

Resurrection skills → used to revive dead PT members.

Recovery Division/ Holy Recovery Division → Buff that passively heals members with the lowest HP by a small amount.

Holy Word/ Holy Spell → Makes it harder to get into abnormal status.

Innocent/ Integrity → Cures abnormal status.

Bless Spell → Greatly increases the defense of all allies for a certain period of time.

Body Blessing/ Body Deity → Increases the target's physical defense. Lasts for 30 minutes.

Soul Blessing/ Soul Deity → Increases the target's magic defense. Lasts for 30 minutes.

Force Blessing/ Force Deity → Increased target power status (Str) . Increases HP and physical attack power.

Mental Blessing/ Mental Deity → Increased the target's intellectual status (Int). Increases MP and magic attack power.

Overhealing/ Glut healing → Causes fixed damage to enemies. Not needed for hunting. Cooling time is not connected.

Offering/ Pure Offering → strongest attack in the game; consumes 95% of your HP when → requires your HP to be atleast above 95% to be able to cast it.

Skill bar example:

Role in PT hunting:

The cleric is the healer and main tank of the party. Until Lv 90 two clerics in a party is very common. The reason for that is better aggro management of the mobs (due to more heals and Warrior's Protect still is low) and for every member of the party it's possible to get following cleric buffs (Each cleric has to give buffs to the other one.)

When using the latter PT setup from Lv90↑ use this distribution:

STR - to Warrior, 壁WIZ and both lurers
INT - to the 3 Damagedealers and Bard (especially when the Bard is Str-based) or Warlock lurer.
Defense buffs - to everyone including yourself.

The clerics basically spam their heals in order to get the aggro of the mobs. Use all the group heals possible (even the lower book ones as cooldown is not linked and you draw better aggro).

Both clerics stay in one fixed location close together to center all the mobs in one spot ( → the damage of Wizards will reveal it's full potential). So don't move around, just stay and cast healings. Don't forget to regularly cast skills like Recovery Division and Holy Spell aswell as the defense buffs.

Recovery Division
Holy Spell

Bless Spell usually is not needed with two clerics but it can be useful in situations when you need to handle loads of mobs.
Bless Spell

Role in PVP:

The cleric is buffing the PT members and heals the HP. It is recommended to have more than 1 cleric during PTPVP. For example as Wiz/Cleric you should mainly act as a cleric during PTPVP and only use Wiz when you see a good chance to kill an opponent. Clerics should buff defense deities to each other to avoid them being canceled when playing free role.

When resurrecting a PT member make sure to immediately give him defensive buffs.

Bless Spell should be used in dangerous situations to greatly increase the defense of the PT. With 4 clerics it is possible to make a Bless Cycle. It is common to use [1, 2, 3, 4] to decide when one is using Bless Spell, e.g. type [1] in the PT chat when your bless will be used first. The 2nd one to use bless will write [2] etc.

When attacking, cleric can use the attacks that cause absolute damage. It's a damage type that ignores any defensive values of the opponents but is the same value every time. It can be very useful against INT-based characters that have little HP or Wizards that use LTO.

Cleric can use the strongest attack in the game: Offering. It is risky to use as it will drop your HP to 5% but very rewarding when it works. The attack is deadly when you are able to hit multiple opponents at once with it causing additional yellow damage from opponent distribution buffs. It can help to use Offering + a socket buff to make the attack resolve even when you get knocked-back. The animation of Offering can be bluffed by the other cleric magical attacks (Trial Cross/Justice Cross) to make your opponent use their interrupting skills.

Mastery combination
Adding a second mastery besides Cleric will make your character more flexible during PT and stronger in general. Can't really do much wrong with Cleric mastery as it is one of the best.

[Beginner Guide] Bard

The Bard is a magical class in Silkroad Online that can using a harp as weapon. It is a buffer class that will support the allies mainly by restoring Mana points (MP) that are required to use skills and attacks.
Stat point distribution can be anything from full INT (will helpful when you want to use the bard attacks) to full STR (better for survivability). Bard alone only can wear Robe as gear.

Advantages:
• easy to play
• buff char that is required for successful PT hunting
• from Lv90 ↑ very relaxing to play
• useful in larger group PVP

Disadvantages:
• attacks are fast but not very strong
• vulnerable to attacks as it can't wear a shield
• rarely space for the class in smaller group PVP such as PTSA (4v4 or lower)

Important Skills:

Guard Tambour

Mana Tambour

Hit March/ Clout March

Moving March/ Swing March

Noise

Mana Cycle / Mana Orbit

Cure Melody/ Cure Music

Dance skills with different effects

Awesome World

Skill bar example:

Role in PT hunting:

The Bard is responsible for keeping up the MP of the PT members by using skills like:
Mana Cycle - requires you to select each member manually.
Most important is MP heal for clerics. Other than that give it to damage dealers too - and don't forget to cast it to yourself. It's a fulltime job. To make it easier for you, Warrior and Lurers do not need Mana Cycle as they can rely on potions.

Mana Orbit - makes things easier as you don't need to target and it counts for the whole PT simultaneously.

In case your stats are Str-based it can be useful to get INT buff by cleric to make casting mana heals easier.

Don't forget to cast skills like these regularly:
Moving Speed - recast it regularly especially for the lurers and when PT members were ressurected from death
Noise - keep it up all the time to minimize getting hit by monsters.

As bard you will use tambours to increase the PTs defence and Dance for increasing the magical damage:
Guard Tambour - for mobs with physical attacks.
Can get canceled when you are under attack. So avoid getting AoE-damage and keep Noise up all the time.
Mana Tambour - for mobs with magical attacks.
Can get canceled when you are under attack. So avoid getting AoE-damage and keep Noise up all the time.
Awesome World - enables Bard to dance alone (the effect of the dance will be cut by half then though).
Dance of Wizardry - to increase magical dmg of the PT.
Can get canceled when you are under attack. So avoid getting AoE-damage and keep Noise up all the time.

In some cases it can be useful to cure status from PT members with:
Cure Melody - 1 target
Cure Music - applies for all PT members simultaneously.

In a case you are using 2 Bards for a PT it can happen that one of them is not able to cast his dance and 2nd tambour. A trick is to cancel the existing tambour of the first bard and it should work.

Role in PVP:

During PVP the bard remains buff role:

• keep up tambour and dance
• in some cases it can be useful to use Dance of Healing instead of Dance of Wizardry
• it can help running around to avoid attacks from low-range opponents

Mastery combination
Adding a second mastery besides Bard will make your character more flexible during PT and stronger in general.

Warrior:
• it is a great support char for both PT hunting (very relaxing) and for PTPVP but not that comfortable for solo activities; preferably STR-based

Rogue
• gives more support ability to the PT; able to lure mobs as rogue and use dance as 2nd bard to increase killing rate with dance; preferably STR-based

Wizard:
• common build for PT hunting but also good for solo hunting; preferably INT-based

Warlock:
• can be a good solo char as hunting as Warlock is very efficient; preferably INT-based

Cleric:
• great buff and support char but not very good for solo hunting; stat distribiution can be anything

[Beginner Guide] Warlock

eu_warlock.png
The warlock is a magical class in Silkroad Online that is using a rod as weapon and a shield for defense. The class is known for using so-called debuffs to increase damage drastically or lower the damage taken by opponents and special damage skills called "DOT" that deal damage over time. The class also offers many interruption and support skills for PT play.

Stat points distribution can be anything, however if you want to make use of warlock's attack skills it should be distributed mostly into INT. Depending on your preference, a few stat points can be distributed into STR too to increase the character's survivability especially in PVP encounters (hybrid char).

Warlock class alone only can wear Robe equipment. Depending on the 2nd mastery, you also are able to wear Light Armor (as Warlock/Cleric for example).

Advantages:
• one of the best classes for solo hunting (very efficient by DOTing mobs and keep running to next mobs)
• best berserker recharge and skill to increase berserk damage from Lv124↑
• many interruption and weakening skills
• one of the most popular classes at Lv124↑

Disadvantages:
• attacks itself are not the strongest (Lv124↑attacks get better)

Important Skills:

DOT's (single target) → damage over time that can be used on one target; depending on the DOT the target can get a status; DOTs increase the berserk gain

DOT's (AoE 3 targets) → damage over time advanced versions that can be used on up to 3 targets

Debuffs (single target) → description see below "Role in PT hunting"

Debuffs (AoE 3 targets) → advanced version that can debuff up to 3 targets

Vampire Touch / Kiss → can cause Disease status on target and increases chance of successfully add debuffs; heals some of your HP

Warlock nukes (magical attack skills)

Stun (single target) → 80% chance to stun target; under stun status target only can use recovery potion but nothing else; good for disabling opponents

Stun (AoE 3 targets) → stun for 3 targets

Scream Mask → buff for 2 players that has chance to stun opponents after they attacked the buffed target (advice: cleric absolute damage is immune to Scream Mask and not causing a stun).

Slumber (single target), Deep Slumber (up to 3 targets) → for disabling the target with Sleep; the status is cancelled when the target gets attacked

Reflect / Advanced Reflect → reflects damage back to the opponent

(Lv 124↑) → decreases defense to increase your damage (similar to WIZ LTO).

Aura of Blood (Lv 124↑) → increases Berserk damage for you and the PT members by 30%.

Role in PT hunting:

The warlock mainly is used as a lurer and support character for PT hunting.
For luring the (single-target) debuffs are used:

• Physical Raze → 80% chance to give Decay status that reduces physical defense power of the target for 30 seconds.

• Medical Raze → 80% chance to give Weaken status that reduces physical defense power of the target for 30 seconds.

• Combat Raze → 80% chance to give Impotent status that reduces offensive power of the target for 30 seconds.

• Courage Raze → 80% chance to give Division status that increases effectiveness of damage on the target for 30 seconds.

They all have a very low cooldown in common and have a chance to weaken the monsters. The most useful status probably is given by "Courage Raze" which adds Division status to the target. This debuff increases the damage by about 30%. This status is especially helpful for killing PTG or mobs from Pandora Box. Thus warlock always should keep Division on PTG when possible. Vampire Kiss/Touch skill can be useful to be used before adding the debuffs to the PTG. It adds Disease status that increases your chance to successfully debuffs the monsters (though, don't use it for luring but for support killing strong mobs as PTG).

Furthermore, the DOTs can be used on the mobs at the killing center of the PT. They help to get berserker faster to increase the killing rate. They also add different status towards the mobs, with "Bleed" status being probably the most useful as it helps to increase the damage even further. Personally I often would use the single-target and AoE-DOT that inflicts Bleed on PTG and use the remaining ones on the other mobs.

There is one more important skill to use: Scream Mask. It is a buff that can be given to 2 PT members. It has a chance to stun the enemies. Preferably use it on the cleric(s) and/or warrior. It has a short cooling time though and needs to be refreshed very often.

Role in PVP:
The warlock is an excellent support class for PTPVP. The main task is to interrupt the opponents by using skills to Stun or Sleep them. Both have single-target and multiple-target versions.

Daze (1 target) and Wrath Daze (3 targets) are used to stun and disable the opponents. Under stun they only can use the HP/MP/Vigor recovery. The stun probability is 80% which is one of the highest among all classes. Slumper (1 target) and Deep Slumper (3 targets) are used in a similar way to sleep the enemies.

Scream Mask should be used whenever possible on 2 of your PT members.

Using debuffs can be difficult when opponents have a cleric or pills to cure it. However you can use DOT skills. They can be very useful on an opponent int-based cleric to prevent his offering attack.

Reflect and Advanced Reflect is another very good skill to be used during group PVP. It has 35% chance to reflect the damage back to the opponent. Not only will the opponents take their own damage but also more than they originally dealt on you or your Pt members as the damage return ratio is 135%. Can be very useful when the opposing team is using attacks under berserk mode. The damage taken from reflect will be shown in yellow numbers. Damage that would be distributed by buffs like "Pain Quota" or "PGMG" still will reflect to the attacker. So basically, Reflect skills are ignoring distribution buffs.

Mastery combination
Adding a second mastery besides Warlock will make your character more flexible during PT and stronger in general.

eu_warlock.png
Warrior:
• gives you more options to stun and interrupt your opponents; beyond Lv124 it is one of the strongest masteries and most popular builds; stat distribution can be anything depending which mastery is supposed to deal the damage

eu_warlock.png
Rogue:
• usually str-based stat distribution with rogue for attacking and warlock as support class

eu_warlock.png
Wizard:
• very nice build for PT hunting as you can give debuffs and dots to increase damage drastically and attack as a wizard; was very good during 90 Cap as berserk filled very quickly and you could berserk almost all the time

eu_warlock.png
Bard:
• can be a good solo char as "Noise" protects you from aggressive mobs and access to moving speed increase; able to heal itself with warlock Vampire Touch/Kiss

eu_warlock.png
Cleric:
• it is one of the most common mastery for Warlock, very efficient in solo hunting
• can wear Light Armor (gives passive benefits when wearing Cleric rod) but MP consumption increases
• HP can be healed quickly/ instantly
• can be excellent in group pvp as it gives chance to use strongest cleric attack "Offering" in combination with many stun skills

[Beginner Guide] Wizard

The wizard is a magical class in Silkroad Online that is using a Staff as weapon. The class can deal big amounts of damage with many of them being area of effect damage (AoE) that hit multiple targets at the same time. The firepower is one of the best among all silkroad classes. The wizard has skills with a high attack range. The attacks are representing the 4 elements: fire, ice, earth and thunder.

Stat points should be distributed mostly into INT. Depending on your preference, a few stat points can be distributed into STR too to increase the character's survivability especially in PVP encounters (hybrid char).

Wizard class alone only can wear Robe equipment. Depending on the 2nd mastery, you also are able to wear Light Armor (as Wizard/Cleric for example).

Advantages:
• very good firepower, strong attacks, many AoE
• large attack range
• good solo character

Disadvantages:
• little HP
• can die quickly

Important Skills:

Life Control/ Life Turnover (LTO) → lowers HP but increases the magical damage

Earth Barrier/ Earth Fence → increases physical damage absorption for everyone in the PT

Teleport/ Aerial Teleport → quick movement to the position where your mouse cursor is located; good for positionating

Ground Charge/ Ground Rave → hits up to 5 targets (around the caster) but has very low attack range (mainly used as 壁WIZ role)

Earth Shock/ Earth Quake → hits up to 5 targets (around the target) with a high attack range

Ice Bolt/ Frozen Spear → single target skill, good for solo hunting

Snow Wind/ Blizzard → hits up to 5 targets with a high attack range

Fire Bolt → single target skill, good for solo hunting

Meteor → strongest wiz attack that hits up to 3 targets, although targets must be very close together

Fire Blow → deals big damage in 7 hits and can hit up to 3 targets (usually targets behind you); small trick: animation can be canceled when you need less than 7 hits by using Detect skill or Earth Barrier/Fence

Lightning Bolt/ Chain Lightning → hits up to 2 respectively 3 targets with a high attack range

Charged Wind/ Charged Squall → can knock back up to 5 targets

Invisible → makes you invisible for other players but slows down moving speed

Crystal Invisible → makes you and your PT invisible but slows down moving speed

Skill bar example:

Role in PT hunting:

The Wizards are the firepower of a party, they can deal great damage. However there are some things to care about when playing Wizard in a PT:
• use Life Control / Life Turnover (LTO)
• use Earth Barrier (EB) /Earth Fence to help your pt taking less physical damage from monsters (with 3 Wizards it's even possible to make a cycle to have it up permanently, requires good coordination).
• use AoE attacks only (area of effect = hit multiple targets simultaneously)
• focus on killing the PT mobs or PTG as the normal mobs will quickly die from AoE damage
• when mobs HP is below ~20% click on the next mobs to continously deal damage
• only attack the mobs that are around the cleric and warrior, avoid attacking mobs from a lure that are on the run towards the cleric as aggro is not maintained yet

During Forgotten World dungeon Shipwreck, it can be useful to use Group Invisible to get rid off the annoying "Ghost Curse" mobs. Someone else needs to have the aggro and nobody is attacking. Then Wiz can use Crystal Invisible and PT escapes from the mob. You can also use ice-based skills to freeze the ghost curse mob, followed by invisible if you are playing solo.

However there are two types of Wizard play styles during PT hunting that require you to use different attack skills:

① ranged-type Wizard
The ranged damagedealers are the ones that get Protect buff from warrior. In order to minimize your aggro you should keep maximum distance to the killing center (cleric & warrior) of the PT. It can help to use Teleport skill to increase your distance again once you got to close. If mobs are spawning near by you, just ignore them as they will get either be caught by the warrior or cleric. If you accidently attacked a near-by spawned mob, run in circles around the cleric and warrior until they get the aggro off you. Charged Wind can be useful to knock back mobs into the center of the clerics.

Skill attacking rotation from Lv 20:
• Lightning Bolt → Earth Shock → Lightning Bolt → Snow Wind

Skill attacking rotation from Lv 60:
• Meteor → Lightning Bolt → Earth Shock → Snow Wind

Skill attacking rotation from Lv 80:
• Meteor → Chain Lightning → Earth Quake → Blizzard

In case warrior's Protect skill is high enough to absorp majority of the aggro and mobs are not dealing any AoE damage, you can consider to play 壁WIZ role too. See below for more details.

② 壁WIZ
壁WIZ is playing closer to the cleric and warrior. Usually it is the highest Lv Wiz of a PT or one that is using Light Armor (in most cases Wizard/Cleric). He should be able to tank some mobs. He is given Pain Quota from the warrior. The attack loop is stronger than the one of the ranged type of wizard.
Skill rotation looks like this:
• Ground Rave → Earth Quake → Ground Rave → Blizzard → Ground Rave

Role in PVP:
In most cases, a Wizard will use his 2nd mastery mainly during group PVP (2nd mastery usually offers more support skills). When holding staff it can be dangerous because there is no shield for your additional defense. So you should avoid running around with Staff equipped all the time. Attacking as a wizard is very situational. Keep an eye on the opponents and find a chance to attack when you find an opponent with little buffs or to fiinish off when some opponents died already. The strongest attack is "Meteor" but its AoE range is very small. Sometimes it is better to use "Earth Quake" or "Blizzard" to hit multiple opponents and deals additional yellow damage to punish opponent's positionating.

The strongest skill sequence probably is.
Auto attack → click on ground → Frozen spear → Charged Squall → Salamander Blow
This way you cancel skill animation of multiple hits but still deal all the damage in a very short amount of time.

Wizard itself can use "Teleport" skill for good and very quick positionating. Also can support the PT with "Earth Barrier/Fence" (EB) when your team is under pyhsical attack, e.g. when a warrior or rogue is attacking in berserk mode.

Mastery combination
Adding a second mastery besides Wizard will make your character more flexible during PT and stronger in general.

Warrior:
• offers great support skills (interrupting, buffing) for group PVP; might be difficult during PT hunting when you are required to play warrior when the character is int-based

Rogue:
• not so common build as it both masteries dont give you opportunity to use a shield; for PT hunting useful as lure (Lv10 Rogue is enough for that actually); for PTPVP only useful when using Scorn

Warlock:
• very nice build for PT hunting as you can give debuffs and dots to increase damage drastically and attack as a wizard; was very good during 90 Cap as berserk filled very quickly and you could berserk almost all the time

Bard:
• common build for PT hunting but also good as bard support for larger group battles; Noise skill gives protection from aggressive monster thus easier to solo level and you have access to moving speed increase skill

Cleric:
• it is one of the most common mastery for Wizards
• can wear Light Armor (gives passive benefits when wearing Cleric rod) but MP consumption increases
• HP can be healed quickly/ instantly
• good for solo and PT hunting (in PT hunting often used as 壁WIZ due to Light Armor)
• can be excellent in group pvp as it gives chance to use strongest cleric attack "Offering" in combination with "Teleport" skill
• mostly played as hybrid char (some stat points distributed into Str) to give it more survivability (especially to survive double absolute damage or one absolute damage when under LTO)
• to remain strong as hybrid Wiz/Cleric it needs a max blued equipment, Devil Spirit to increase HP/MP, (job equipment)

further mastery combinations:
• Wiz (MAX), Warrior (Lv 10), Cleric (rest) → can knock back with Shield Trash but might not be able to wear Light Armor set; access to strong wizard attacks
• Cleric (MAX), Warrior (Lv 10), Wiz (rest) → can knock back with Shield Trash and wear complete Light Armor set; access to strongest attack "Offering"
• Wiz (Lv 108), Warrior (Lv 10), Cleric (Lv 102) → can knock back with Shield Trash, wear Light Armor and have access to max'ed Wiz skills Lv 108 at Cap 110.

[Beginner Guide] Rogue

The rogue is a physical class in Silkroad Online that can use 2 type of weapons (Crossbow & Dagger). Among all classes it has some of the strongest and fastest physical attacks that can deal big amount of damage. Crossbow has a very large attack range while dagger attack range is very low. Furthermore it has some sneaky skills like Stealth or skills that force the enemy to attack it.
Stat points should be distributed completely into Str as your attacks are physical type. I recommend wearing Light Armor.

Advantages:
• very strong and fast attacks that can be reinforced by giving up some of your defense
• large attack range
• interesting interruption possibilities

Disadvantages:
• Rogue alone not always the most useful class in PTPVP as the support possibilities are limited
• vulnerable to attacks as it can't wear a shield when attacking
• without a cleric or healing the chance of dieing is rather high

Important Skills:

Stealth → makes you invisible for other players but slows down your moving speed (moving speed will be little faster when holding Dagger weapon)

Scorn/ Gross Scorn → draws the attention of the opponent to you for a short amount of time (about 7 seconds), the opponent can't chose any other targets then (single target version and 3 target version)

Crossbow Extreme → give up half HP and physical defense power to drastically increase physical damage

Fast Shot/Rapid Shot → skill with highest attack range and short cool time to lure monsters

Distance Shot → strongest crossbow attack

Hurricane Shot → crossbow attack with chance to knock-down opponent (trick: Hurricane Shot + Poison Weapons imbue to immediately knock-down opponent)

Dagger Desperate → give up some of your physical/magical defense power to drastically increase physical damage

Prick → strongest Dagger attack that can give Bleed status and/or stun

Mortal Wounds → damage increases when target is knocked-down, can give Bleed status

Butterfly Blow → dagger attack with 5 fast attack moves

Screw → attack with chance to stun the target

Scud → can be used with dagger to increase moving speed (trick: have speed potion active, use Scud, cancel speed potion and use a new one to make you move even faster)

Skill bar example:

Role in PT hunting:

The rogue is supposed to be a lurer during PT hunting using his crossbow. Use "Fast Shot" and later on "Rapid Shot" to bring monsters to the PT. Take care to get into healing range of the clerics to transfer the aggro to them. It is recommended to have always about 10 monsters around the clerics. Always keep an eye if the PT can deal with more monsters or if you need to slow down to not overlure and risk the death of the PT. Before joining the PT, make sure to bring enough bolts for luring.

You can use "Poison/Vein Trap" regularly at the killing center to give the monsters poison status.

It can be helpful for some characters to skill up Lv 10 Rogue only to have access to lurer role during PT hunting. It can be easily leveled down later and your chance to join a PT might increase. For example when you are Wiz/Cleric but not be able to cleric during PT, it might be useful to have cleric 10 Lvs behind and skill Rogue (Fast Shot).

Role in PVP:

During PVP rogue can use invisible to start some surprise attacks after finding a target that can be defeated. The strongest attack from Dagger line is "Prick". Damage of dagger attacks can be increased with "Dagger desperate".
The strongest attack from Rogue line is "Distance Shot" which damage can be increased with "Crossbow Extreme". Attacking as a rogue is very dependant on the situation.

• you could try to attack from far away with "Distance Shot" and berserker to surprise an opponent from a "blind spot"
• you could try to be invisible under "Dagger desperate" and also surprise an opponent with "Prick" attack
• you could try to knockdown an opponent with "Hurricane Shot" and then quickly use Dagger with "Scud" and "Immortal Wounds" to attack a knocked down target as the damage will be increased then. You can use "Hurricane Shot" followed by the imbue "Poison Weapons" to faster knock down your opponent.

One of the most useful support skills or Rogue class is "Scorn" (single target) and "Gross Scorn" (up to 3 targets). It draws the attention of the opponent to you for a short amount of time (about 7 seconds). The opponent can't chose any other targets then. It is useful for:

• interrupting opponents attacks → for example if an opposing cleric is casting Offering attack on your PT member
• restricting opponent to target his PT members → for example you could interrupt opponents warrior that is buffing his PT members or prevent a cleric from ressurecting a member
• help your own PT members to cast attacks or buffs without getting interrupted by the opponent(s)
• prevent opponent from buffing himself → for example opponent can't use "Healing Cycle" or defense cleric buffs on himself anymore
• prevent opponent from picking up BA Flag
• prevent opponent from placing the BA Flag in the pole

For cancelling a dangerous "Offering" attack from the opponent cleric it also can be useful to use "Fast Shot".

Mastery combination
Adding a second mastery besides Rogue will make your character more flexible during PT and stronger in general.

Warrior:
• gives you more access to strong physical attacks and it is one of the best 1v1 PVP builds, but you have access to 5 weapon types which makes it challenging to switch between them

Wizard:
• Teleport Skill will make your movement much quicker and more surprisingly. Access to more "Invisible" skills and support buffs like "Earth barrier". Able to use Wizard's attack "Charged squall" to knock back multiple opponents.

Warlock:
• gives you more options to stun and interrupt your opponents; beyond Lv124 it is one of the strongest masteries

Bard:
• gives more support ability to the PT; able to lure mobs as rogue and use dance as 2nd bard to increase killing rate with dance

Cleric:
• one of the most popular mastery combinations as it gives your great defense, survivability and chance for heals; also good for solo hunting

[Beginner Guide] Warrior

The warrior is a class in Silkroad Online that can use 3 type of weapons (1-hand sword & shield, 2-handed sword and Dual Axe). It combines defensive and offensive strength with good buffs for the PT members and many skills to interrupt the opponents.
Stat points should be distributed completely into Str as your attacks are physical type. I recommend wearing Light Armor.

Advantages:
• very high defense power
• 2-hand-sword has some strong attacks with high attack power
• essential skills to support PT members
• ability to interrupt and stop opponent's movements with knockback and knockdown

Disadvantages:
• during a PT, the HP can fluctuate a lot depending on the given buffs that share the damage among the PT members and yourself
• 3 types of weapons can make it challenging to switch between them
• without a cleric or healing the chance of dieing is rather high
• attack range is among the lowest of all classes

Important Skills:

Vital Increase → Increases HP but reduces the attack power by 35%.

Sprint Assault → Rushing at opponent with chance to knockback and/or stun him.

Iron Skin → Increases your physical defense power.

Mana Skin → Increases your magical defense power.

Pain Quota → shares the damage taken by up to 2 PT members among all the other PT members.

Physical Fence → transfers a certain amount of % physical damage from the buffed player to you

Magical Fence → transfers a certain amount of % magical damage from the buffed player to you

Protect → Aggro absorption; can be buffed to 2 players.

Screens → Greatly increases target's defense for 1 minute (physical, magical and both types of defense).

Shield Trash → can be used with a shield to knock back with a high probability

Dare Devil → Warrior's strongest attack

Turn Rising → fast skill with chance to knock down opponent

Triple Swing → has increased damage when opponent is knocked down

Sudden Twist → useful skill to stun your opponent or adding bleed status

Skill bar example:

Role in PT hunting:

The warrior is a buffer and tanker in the PT.
He is responsible for protecting the Wizards and Bards from the mobs. It's important to always use 1h/Shield. If you understand how "mob aggro" works, then this class is easy and relaxing to play. The most important task is to keep the buffs on the PT members.

He mainly will stay near the cleric (don't run around!) and use skills like
• Taunting Target → to increase your aggro on the mobs (3 targets)
• Howling Shout → to increase your aggro on the mobs (5 targets)
• Vital Increase → to increase your HP and Aggro

In rare cases when you need to catch a mob use these skills:
• Sprint Assault → to get the mobs which are close at the Wizards or Bards
• Shield Trash → knocking back mobs into the killing center at the cleric

Let's come to the most important part of a Warrior - the buffing:
• Pain Quota (PQ) → give it to both Clerics. It is the most important buff for the PT and must be rebuffed before it runs out (5 minutes buff duration)!
• Physical/Magical Fence (PG/MG) → give it to the Lurer and to the lowest WIZ
• Protect → give it to the two WIZ with highest damage

From Alexandria PTs it is common to use 1 Cleric and 2 Lurers. Then the buff distribution looks like this: Pain Quota to Cleric and 壁WIZ (highest Lv Wizard using Ground Rave), Fences to both Lurers and Protect goes to the Wizards with ranged attacks.

Role in PVP:

In a 1v1 match you should make use of the numerous interrupting skills (Sprint Assault, Shield Trash, Turn Rising and Sudden Twist) to avoid getting damage from your opponent and try to attack when you see chance for dealing some damage with the strongest attack "Dare Devil".

During PTPVP the warrior in most cases is the tanker and buffer, not primarily the attacker. He is essential for the survivability of the PT and should use Vital Increase most the time. It's most important to keep your PT members buffed, especially "Pain Quota" that expires rather quickly. For "Physical/Magical Fence" it can be interesting to not max these two skills out as the damage you receive then might be too high. You furthermore can increase the defense of your PT members by using the "screens". It is helpful to not use all 3 screen on the same player or at the same time. Same for using skins to increase your defense. Use them on specific situations when it is required to survive.

Watch out for dangerous opponents and try to interrupt them primarily with "Sprint Assault"(very important to interrupt strong or ranged attacks like cleric's offering) or "Shield Trash"(it is faster than the advanced version "Shield Crush"). You should mostly wear 1-handed-sword and shield during the battle. When you are used to switching your weapons, you also can try to interrupt with 2-handed-sword (Turn Rising → knockdown) or Dual Axe (Sudden Twist → Stun). If you see a chance to deal damage, you can try to deal some with the 2-handed-sword-skill "Dare Devil". Cancelling "Vital Increase" will help you to deal some more damage.

Be careful when switching weapons as you need to equip to 1-h-sword before using the shield. Otherwise all your buffs on the Pt members will be canceled and chance that PT will be defeated is high. Even to myself it happens sometimes.

Mastery combination
Adding a second mastery besides warrior will make your character more flexible during PT and stronger in general.

Rogue:
• gives you more access to strong physical attacks and it is one of the best 1v1 PVP builds, but you have access to 5 weapon types which makes it even more challenging to switch between them

Wizard:
• Teleport Skill will make your movement much quicker and more surprisingly

Warlock:
• gives you more options to stun and interrupt your opponents; beyond Lv124 it is one of the strongest masteries and most popular builds.

Bard:
• it is a great support char for both PT hunting (very relaxing) and for PTPVP but not that comfortable for solo activities

Cleric:
• one of the most popular mastery combinations as it gives your great defense, survivability and chance for heals

Cultural differences between iSRO and jSRO

During my time playing jSRO I experienced a lot of differences compared to international Silkroad and private server scene. I will try to list the differences I noticed.

Politeness
In jSRO I experienced respectful, mature and polite behavior from the players. Players are greeting each other when joining PTs, either 4/4 or 8/8 PT. They also say "Good Bye" once a member needs to go and leaves the PT.

There almost is no (public) hate or disrespect towards other players or guilds in white chat or global chat. Both chat types are rarely used anyway. Global chatting mainly is used for recruiting players for a hunting PT and for purchasing or selling items. When players sell items via Global chat they will set a price in the global. Unlike in international and private SRO where players usually ask for an offering.

Stalling items in town

The main market place in jSRO is Hotan city. You will find the majority of the stalls there. I noticed pretty quickly that there is an unwritten rule: Players usually open their stall at the edges of Hotan center. That way stalls end up in a big circle around Hotan. It makes it easier to check stall by stall and gives more room for the players that are just standing in the center of the town. It's a nice system I haven't seen anywhere else.

Unique hunting
In international SRO hunting low level uniques is very common and people try to get "famous" because their name is popping up on the screen. In jSRO the players don't hunt low level uniques (maybe only when they help a character to level up). On top of that there is no unique appearance message.

When unique events take place, different towns are used for different level ranges of uniques. That way higher level players can kill the uniques appropiate to their levels and the same goes for low level players. A high level player is only allowed to hunt low level uniques to help lower level players. Otherwise he might be punished with login restrictions.

PT hunting organisation
In jSRO I experienced the best and most advanced PT hunting of all Silkroad versions. PT hunting is completely different from any other SRO version (PT hunting setup, buff distribution and overall organisation).

The process of organising a PT usually looks like this:
① The PT leader is forming a PT for the mobs he would like to hunt in the Pt matching system.

② Players that would like to join apply via whisper at the PTL. They apply by naming their Lv and role(s) they can play.
③ PTL is deciding about the application and asking the player to either join or to apologize when the role is taken already. Sometimes it takes a little bit for PTL to reply when he went afk shortly. When players apply for the PT they do it with the intention to be able to play for at least 90 minutes. When joining a PT, players will greet each other.
④ The PTL will adjust the PTM according to the roles that are missing for a successful PT. There are no people that randomly try to join it. Reservation of PT slots is common too and mentioned in the PT matching entry.
⑤ Players will gather at the hunting area in a save spot and wait there until the PT is ready to start. Usually that's the case when PT is 7/8 or 8/8 depending on the members. Nobody will start hunting mobs alone or with a few players only. Players are patient and wait for the PT to fill. I sometimes experienced waiting times of 1-2 hours before PT was full. Nobody was leaving during that time. If it's unrealistic that PT will fill up (e.g. when it's too late), then PTL will inform the members about dismissing the PT.

⑥ When all players are on the spot, the PTL will set a time when the PT hunting will finish (usually PT hunting time will be 90 minutes) and ask the members if it is okay for them. After that he will decide the roles of the players. The PT will buff up and the save spot and then will start the PT hunting.
⑦ PTL will make a short notice in the PT chat when PT hunting is about to end. Usually when it is 10 minutes, 5 minutes and 1 minute before the ending time. He will ask the lurers to stop luring.
⑧ PT will move to the save spot again and everyone is thanking each other and saying good bye!

Queueing at event:

During Snowflake event that usually took place around Christmas and New Year the most populated spot to farm Snowflake boxes was at Bandit area. The area is farmed by one event PT alone. Interestingly players that wanted to reserve a PT slot to join it were waiting at the stairs to the entrance of Bandit area. I've never seen such a player-made queueing system in any Silkroad!

Fortress War tax
Taxes in jSRO usually were set at -20% during my time. I think it is done to help the players.

Youtube videos
I noticed big differences of recorded content between jSRO and iSRO.

iSRO youtube:
• 1v1 PVP
• Unique hunting (low level uniques)
• Fortress War
• Humiliating others

jSRO youtube:
• PTPVP (BA & SA)
• PT hunting

Memorable Players

I want to revive my blog a little bit and thought about the "good old times" and the nice players I met during my Silkroad journey. So I decided to make a small album of memorable players - maybe some out there find themselves here again. I will try to write down my memories about the players and share a character screenshot if possible.

I'm sure that I forgot many players that deserve a mention. Sorry for that in advance.

Foreigner PvP "rules" (isro & psro)

Players from international and private SRO scene have very strange rules about certain skill usage and behavior in PvP. First of all, their mind is purely focused on 1v1 PvP. They almost don't care for PTPVP. That's very unfortunate and makes me sad. In almost every private server skill changes are made with focus on 1v1 in mind -- it usually causes a lot of problems for PTPVP. It's often the case that essential PTPVP skills are disabled completely ... I can't understand this.

In 1v1 there are some idiotic rules:
• Running is not allowed.
• Use of socket stones is not allowed.
• Using environment or terrain of the game is not allowed (they call it terrain abuse).
• Reflect skill is not allowed - it is foreigners most hated skill.
• Bless Spell and Warrior Skin skills are not allowed.
• Use of Vigor Grains is in some servers not allowed.

For me running in PVP is considered normal. Every time a foreigner is doing pvp they complain about my running and that I should stop that.

I find running and positionating your character one of the most important "skills" in Silkroad. It helps you to avoid opponent's attacks or AoE-Dmg and it helps you to cover time when your important skills are on cooldown for example.

There is one more thing I would like to talk about: foreigners only have "fun" when they can "dominate". Usually foreigners need equipment or item mall advantage in order to be "good". They enjoy dominating and humiliating other players...
When others are able to catch up, it usually gets boring for them and they quit the game. Maybe that also explains the non-stop server hopping because they always hope to be dominant in the next servers to come.

NGE PTSA Highlights

Good morning,

I created a new video with some highlights of NGE PTSA. This time I tried to improve my video editing with new effects such as sound effects, smoother video cuts and slowmotion effects. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm motivated to play PTSA again!
Only 50~100 players are required to make NGE a fun to play server!!!

Lv 130

I finally reached Lv 130. Thanks to everyone who helped me achieving it.

Lv 128

I was playing a little again. I had few days free and used the x5 EXP event to get Lv 128. During the egg event Treacheryさん and me managed to get a 15Q weapon each. What we don't understand is why the management is not adding NPCs to exchange coins and lucky bags. Looks like they want a lot of work by doing it manually.

I also joined IDeaR guild. Thank you!

Gears & Equipment:

For 11th degree there are the 3 known types of equipments: normal items, Seal of Nova and Seal of Nova Egypt. The following information show on how equipment can be gained.

Item Mall:

Item Mall supply is heavily reduced. There won’t be any pay2win items such as Magic pop cards (only obtainable via BA), HP/MP Increase Scrolls or damage scrolls anymore. On top, Immortal Stones got removed to keep BA active and make alchemy risky.

Removed:
• D11 Immortal Stones
• Magic Pop Cards
• Reverse Return scrolls

• Ressurrection Scrolls
• Global Chat
• HP/MP Increase scrolls
• Damage scrolls

Avatars:
Avatars got removed from item mall and added to “Item Mall Avatar NPC” in Hotan city.

Battle Arena will regularly take place every 30 minutes with a duration of 20 minutes.

Schedule:
schedule.png

Arena types: random matching & party arena
• Random matching arena (8v8): Players apply individually and randomly are divided into 2 teams upon the start. The scale of the battle is by default 8v8 with a minimum of 4v4.
• Party arena (4v4): Players gather in an item-/exp-free-for-all (!) party with the party leader making the registration. This type is limited to 4v4 party battles with a minimum of 2v2.
pt-settings_2017120805594694f.png
Important: A item-free-for-all-party is required to ensure the team is limited to 4 players only.

Players are rewarded with Arena Coins according to their team’s result. There is a limit of 50 Arena coins per day. Arena coins and rewards are account-bound to prevent abuse.

Rewards:

Magic Pop:
magic-pop-npc.png

For playing Magic pop, a Magic Pop Card is required. Magic Pop cards only can be bought from Arena Item Manager in Hotan. 1 Magic Pop Cards costs 10 Arena coins.

Following account-bound items can be won:
mpop-rewards-chinese.png
mpop-rewards-eu.png

Forgotten World:

Forgotten World dungeon provides players with Seal of Nova equipment and encourages teamplay. With 4 different grades it offers players the possibility to either go alone, with a small group or a complete party. It provides flexibility and gives everyone the chance to gain his equipment without worrying about reward-for-kill.

Dimension Holes can be gained as drops or bought from NPC in town for a small fee.
Completing the talisman collection will be rewarded with a 11th degree Egypt weapon of your choice.
egy-weap.png

The small uniques have a chance of dropping valuable items such as Socket stones and Advanced Elixiers.
Besides talismans, the final bosses in Shipwreck drop 11th degree Seal of Nova equipment and Egypt A weapons.
fgw-drops.png

Daily Quests:
Players can get additional rewards (Arena coins) for completing a repeatable quest during Forgotten World dungeon. The quests is available for ★3 & ★4 grade difficulty. Please speak to NPC Doctor Renenutet in Alexandria south.
daily-fgw-quest.png

Job Temple:
Job Temple is an PvE and PvP area that only can entered when wearing a job suit. Thieves and Hunters enter from different locations.
temple-location.png

Inside the temple there are monsters and in specific times uniques.
job-temple-uniques.png

Selket, Neith, Anubis and Isis rooms can be entered by every job, both from hunters and thieves. To make Hareoris appear for either Hunters or Thieves, players need to gather AP-points. AP points are gained from a quest line for the uniques. Talking to Job Union Representative NPC players can start quests for the uniques. Hitting the unique once is enough to make the quests work. So every player that is participating in killing the unique will be rewarded equally. The quests will give BA coins and AP points. The uniques will drop 11th degree Seal of Nova Egypt weapons & shield and 11th degree Seal of Nova equipment.
The fraction that killed the unique will be rewarded with AP points and will be able to enter Hareoris unique’s room.
Note: Job can be changed anytime with job changing scrolls at Grocery NPC. That way every player can take part in unique killing.

Triangular Conflict (Job System):
mini_gold_icon.png

The Job system is as players are used to it. With one exception: the job can be changed anytime by using a scrolls from Grocery NPC. There are no penalties when changing the job and your job EXP is not lost. For every job (hunter, trader, thief), you will need to create an alias (job name). However, the alias will stay once you picked it for each job.
The job system’s main purpose is to have fun and to gain gold. The transport COS for trading will change their HP depending on the character’s level.

Alchemy:
Item plusing:

Alchemy is working as original. However there is a +ing limit of +10 (with advanced elixier) for non-sealed items. Limit is +12 for Shield and Weapons. Sealed items have no +ing limit.

Immortal Stones:
immortal-removed.png

Important: Immortal stones completely got removed. They can NOT be gained, neither from Item Mall nor from ingame activities. Thus plusing items above +5 can be risky.

Elixiers:

Elixiers are obtained by hunting monsters in the open world or inside dungeons.

Advanced Elixiers:
archemy_upper_reinforce_accessary2.pngarchemy_upper_reinforce_armor2.pngarchemy_upper_reinforce_shield2.pngarchemy_upper_reinforce_weapon2.png

Normal Advanced Elixiers can be obtained as drops from Forgotten World and Holy Water Beginner temple.
Sealed Advanced Elixiers can be obtained as drops from Forgotten World 3* & 4* and Holy Water Temple Intermediate & Advanced dungeon.

Magic Stones:
archemy_magicstone_luck.png

Magic stones are obtained by hunting monsters in the open world or inside dungeons. Drop rate is increased to make sure players can have competitive equipment in a reasonable amount of time.

Socket Stones:
socket_stone_hpi.png

Socket stones are dropped inside Forgotten World dungeon. When adding Socket stones to items, they will be Max. Lv.

Skill Balance:

Many skills got adjusted to R-version of Silkroad as it is well balanced there. A few more skill changes got implemented. A complete list of skill changes you find here.

It's hopeless...

Good evening,

as you probably noticed there were no blog updates for a while. That's because I'm busy working and there simply is no good server to play on. I'm at work when there would be activity at JSRO; but also leveling up at Lv 125↑ takes really long. I'm not too motivated to login on weekend only. Progress would be little. Instead I was trying to support a private server named "RIGID SRO". My hopes about this server were really high: they have orginal working SA! RIGID team is working on this project since almost 1 year now. I tried to push the game concept in the direction I would like to see.

Unfortunately with their yesterday's update about CTF (battle flag) being mandatory to earn coins for sun equipment my disappointment was intense. They have access to original working SA!! Why the fuck would you still need CTF?? I regret suggesting ideas, giving warning about consequences of specific updates and investing time and effort to support this server. It feels like getting betrayed...

We warned them many many times about how WRONG reward for killing is. I don't know why it is hard to understand that logical thing. Their team massively lacks SRO gaming experience. They are good at coding but not good about SRO knowledge. On top, the player base from international SRO is completely spoiled by botting - their ideas are absolute trash and idiotic too!! Their mind is purely focused on 1v1...

REWARD-FOR-KILL IS TOTALLY WRONG!!! Here is why:

① It favors selfish gameplay. Supporting classes will not be rewarded thus they will be useless.
② Class variety will be very small because everyone will make a class that is good at killing. Basically Wizard/Cleric and Warrior/Cleric only.
③ Reward for kill (for example open-world uniques, CTF, job kills) will make strong players even stronger → new players are not able to "catch up".
④ PvP will be played on a primitive level. No strategies or team tactics involved. The only thing that will count is damage - and nothing else...

There is NOT A SINGLE server that DOES NOT have this features. God damn.
Why is nobody understanding this? W H Y??????? I mean it's just logical thinking.

Funny occasion

There was a really funny occassion happening yesterday: Few days ago I bought a 13D Legend 1h-sword clean for 120M. I used the option at Gori NPC to change it into a 13D Legend staff. Then, I tried reselling it for 150M. A player bought it and when I was checking stalls after my PT ended, I found the weapon getting stalled again. Surprisingly for 120M only. I can't explain it. I decided to rebuy it and resell for 150M once more. It worked. So basically I made double profit from this 1 item. :D

Today I finally bought a 14D legend shield for 350M. It will replace my 13D+3 Legend shield which I sold for 300M already. In summary the 14D shield costed me around 50M. Quite cheap if you ask me.

SRO[2017-01-14 10-00-01]_65

After a few stones I got block rate 21. My 12D and 13D shields had block rate 21 too. Looks like I'm lucky with it. ^^;

Lv 123 and Knight title

I reached Lv 123 during 11th anniversary event campaign.

SRO[2016-11-19 12-10-34]_25

Additionally, I was working on 110 title "Knight". A lot of thanks to my friend Treachery for helping me inside the dungeons.
The hardest unique to kill was Sphinx. It has massive spawns and since you can't stuck the uniques anymore, it was tough to kill. Most annoying is the reflect buff. I measured the time between the reflect use. The unique uses reflect skill every 1:15 min. So thats the save time to attack him.

How I make gold in jsro.

In this small guide I will show you how I manage to make profit in jsro in order to buy better equipment for my character. Actually I was surprised when I noticed that some players price their items too cheap. A reason could be that they don't have much time for stalling, want to make quick cash or get rid off several items.

For making big profits it's necessary to have:

1) a character for stalling only. I'm using my sub char エアトス for this, logged on a 2nd PC,
2) have about 50M on the stall char in order to grab big deals that require higher investments,
3) Knowledge about the market prices.

There probably is more relevant factors but these three have a big influence.

The formular to make gold is quite simple: Buy cheap, sell high! Basically that's all I do.

Let me list you some of my deals to illustrate the idea.

Pandora box (パンドラ): buy price 6M → sell price 7M = profit +1M

STR scroll (10 pieces 個です): buy price 2M → sell price 5M = profit +3M

Proof stone (renkin): buy price 30M → sell price 33M = profit +3M

Devil Spirit S (nasu-s): buy price 45M → sell price 65M = profit +20M

Grab pet (petto): buy price 20M → sell price 42M = profit +22M

Shield 12Q (レジェ): buy price 50M → sell price 80M = profit +30M

Light Armor 12Q (レジェ): buy price 20M → sell price 70M = profit +50M

Cleric Rod 13Q (レア): buy price 20M → sell price 60M = profit +40M

1h-sword 13Q (レア): buy price 2M → sell price 40M = profit +38M

1h-sword 14Q (マギック): buy price 5M → sell price 10M = profit +5M

Cleric Rod 14Q (レア): buy price 3M → sell price 150M = profit +148M (my best deal!)

I can't remember all deals I made. Too many to list them all up but with some good eye for prices and patience making gold is not that hard.

Last but not least I can share a small trick on how to transfer gold safely from your account when you have 1 character only:
① Character who wants to receive the Gold buys some arrows
② Register the arrow one by one in consignment for 999,999 Gold (that way no fee will be payed)
③ Buy the arrows with the character you want to transfer the Gold from
④ Take the Gold with the character that registered the arrows in Consignment

No one buys an arrow for 1M & you can easily transfer money to another account with no fees.

My best deal happened in 2019: A seller offered a 14Q+12 shield for 12M ... which was supposed to be 1.2 billion most likely:
